Helping People Lose Weight Via Traditional & Surgery Alternatives
My anesthetist appointment went well on the 1st…well as good as could be expected.
I was fasting, and the fasting, heat, lack of water and anemia did not put me in a very good mood and I was nervous. I was so scared there was going to be something that would delay my surgery. Whether it would have been something registering in the blood work, or the chest x ray or the ECG. I was scared shitless. So much in fact that I can now tell you every single bathroom they have in Royal Jubilee Hospital. Oh yes, I have visited them all in an anxiety ridden frenzy. So when I checked in at 11am I was taken to Clinic 1 on the first floor. The lady did my blood work, but as usual couldn’t find a vein. After poking me twice AND using my hand (which I asked her very kindly not to do because of my nerve damage from the last nurse who poked me there) she sent me to the old wing where I saw another blood technician who managed to get it on the first try. Only one poke. So now that I looked like an intravenous drug user, I finally got to eat. I checked out Tim Horton’s selections and decided to have their last piece of pizza. I was going to treat myself, and it had a lot of meat on it (I needed protein). I forgot about the cheese and the fact that I am lactose intolerant, and ate the damn pizza. Big mistake. Well I got to know the other bathrooms in RJH on the upper floor. Yep.
So now that I have eaten, and it has left my body, I now get to go back to Clinic 1 to check in and see what else I need to do. I was sent to Clinic 2 for a ECG. I laid on the bed topless and the lady put those sticky things all over my chest and 2 on my left ankle. I hardly had time to relax or anything when she was ripping the sticky things off of me and I was done. Pretty much a 2 min test. Okay on to the next! I then went back to Clinic 1 and found out I needed to go to Medical Imaging. I was set up for my chest X ray. Also topless (Hmm seems to be a theme around there)
. I had a really hot male nurse take me to the room, and then a really hot guy giving me my X Ray. It was sort of a “Hi I know we just met, but here I am topless!” moment. After all of those tests it was 1:30 and I had to still wait 30 minutes until I was to see the anesthetist. When the time passed and I went in the room to wait, he was very straight forward, asked some questions about my background health so far and that was it. He assured me everything was fine and he would see me on the 12th for surgery. This is so cool. I am now on my ten day countdown!!! I never thought I would get here and now that I am I am freaking out (in a good way) I am so happy and grateful. I am still a little worried every time the phone rings if it could be the hospital and theres something wrong with my tests. But I am sure I am fine!!! It’s just the pre surgery paranoia I’m sure most others faced as well. The feeling of “something might go wrong and delay my surgery”. Yep I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks like this!
