Hi,

I live outside the Lower Mainland and Island and don't make it to Victoria to see Dr. Amson very much, but I have an appt with him on Friday afternoon.  He performed my Lap Band Surgery in 2010 and so far I have lost 121 pounds.  I know that sometimes people like to meet each other who are participants  in this Forum and I would be glad to meet anyone who is considering this surgery or already had it and talk about…well…whatever.

Please send me a PM if you are interested in meeting for breakfast/lunch or a coffee between about 10 am and 12:30 pm.

Thanks!

Hey Mary ,

I got my surgery done in Feb /08 and only down 85 lbs ….nw I am starting to climb back up …I am so disheartened as it took so much to get it off,…as I had to excersize like crazy daily ….I am eating porridge for BK and soup for lunch and a drink everyday after work and then salad ….I need a boost …can you give me some hints on how you did it …I live on the Island , and have not had alot of luck with fills as I have gone 6 times and only 2 fils and have had Dr Amson open me to find the port as we couldn;t seem to get the needle in ….but I think I am as tight as I want to be …as I am tired of puking ….can you help me with some solid ideas for us long time bandsters….jacque

270 at surgery

190 now …was down to 180 and holding for 1 year ….guess I am getting lazier

I hate to be the one to break this to you, Jacque, but exercise is the only thing that will save any of us on this Board in the end.

The Lap Band and maybe RNY is just a magic trick performed by Dr. Amson that gets you started….then you have to do the rest of the work yourself.  Doesn't matter what you eat, if it gets stuck, if the fill doesn't work, if your pouch stretches, whatever…exercise is the only thing that will save any of us.  That and maybe the Serenity prayer from AA (sorry Charlie Sheen).

Anyone reading this who wants a far away exercise buddy they can be accountable to…message me.  I exercise 2 hours per day and we can check in with each other each night to make sure that we both did what we were supposed to do….oh, and like Paul Plakas, I don't accept any excuses any more, from myself or anyone else.
