Hi everyone, it's been a long time since I posted, but I do have a question. I was banded last Feb. and have lost about 80lb so far. Just after Xmas I began to feel more restriction in my band and am having to go back on liquid diet. At night when I am sleeping I am awaken because I am throwing up a bit of liquid. It is almost like drowning. Last few nights I am sleeping almost sitting up and it still happens. I am wondering if my band has twisted. Has anyone else experienced this? Up until now I have been fine with a good restriction but still able to eat small amounts of most everything except bread. Hopefully it will pass because I am having problems getting enough water into me. Lots of gurgling and god what I wouldn't give for a good burp. It is almost like a drain in your house that has no vent. Thanks Carol PS. thanks to all the Courtenay girls for the great Xmas pot luck, it was fun.

HI Carol,
Fantastic job on the weight loss!!
Sounds like you are experiencing acid reflux and need a tiny unfil. Trust me… it just gets worse if you ignore it! I had to have a complete unfil for 10 days to recover from having too tight of a band. Sometimes it just gets tighter and I can't explain it. Mine gets tighter if I am really stressed. Women sometimes go super tight over thier period, or maybe you have something stuck in there? Think about getting a tiny unfil. Please let us know how you are doing. Take care,
Barb

Thanks Barb, and nice to hear from you, it has been a while since we talked. This situation is really bugging me because I was doing so good. I am afraid that I am not getting enough to eat or drink now and that my health may suffer for it. I will get in touch with Dr. Amson's office for an appointment for an adjustment. I have been ignoring it and hoping it would go away but it is just as bad today. Thanks so much again for the advice and I will call them right now. Carol

Hi again Barb, I got an appointment with Dr. A next Tues. at 2:15. Apparently there was a lot of canellations on that day. It is nice I can spend the night with my Mother in law in Duncan, she always enjoys a visit. The receptionist says that this change in restriction is very common at the stage I am right now (10 to 11 months post op) and since I haven't been in since May it is time for me to have a check-up. Good advice Barb— Carol

HI Carol,
That's great you could get in so quick. It's funny…when I was too tight I did lose weight but definetly not the way I wanted to do it. I did not feel good and the acid reflux at night had me sleep deprived. A tiny unfil will make a wonderful world of difference! Let us know how you make out. Take care Carol.

I had my appointment yesterday with Dr. A and all went well. He was pleased with my progress so far and told me not to wait so long between appointments. He did unfill me 5cc's and put back in 4cc's. Had me drink losts of water and all was well so he put in .5cc's more. I am now at 4.5cc's with good restriction but still able to swallow liquids easily. What a relief to have this problem fixed. I was starting to loose muscle instead of fat with not eating and drinking enough. Still don't know what would cause the change in restriction, but like they said it is not uncommon. Thanks for your support, Carol
