I am not a lapband patient but had explored the possibility before deciding on RNY.
I have noticed on some of the boards that people had waited quite some time for appts for fills so I just wanted to let everyone know that if they are in Victoria there are options for fills other than Dr. Amson's/Tang's office.
Jubilee walk-in clinic is one of them, they have a trained staff member available. Just phone for an appt.

They are the ones that I am comfortable recommending at this point. The others are very new at it.

I just have a question. I will be seeing Dr. A. in May. if it is decided that I should get lap. band. and I live in the interior, are there specific doctors that are trained in this area to have fills or do I need to go back to see Dr. A.? Frances

Hi Frances;
I'm pretty sure Dr Amson can refer you to colleagues in the interior he would be comfortable with who could do your fills. Just ask him in May.

Hello!
I'm a newbie on this site and am so happy to have found you all !! I was thinking I was all alone here !! lol
I went to Tijuana Mexico in October and had a lapband inserted. I've had no problems other than I received a slightly too large fill last week (here in Victoria) and had to have it unfilled in the RJH emergency room .
I saw the post from Amethyst advising that a fill from the Jubilee walk-in clinic might be available by appointment. I'm not familiar with this facility..is it somehow associated with the RJH? How would I find their phone number? I did have a 2cc unfill by Dr. Malik last week in the RJH emergency room …what a nice doctor he is! Does anyone know if he will do fills on a 'Mexican' band?
Any info you can provide me with would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the board, yes you definitely are not alone in this, we are all here for you.
Dr. Malik's office phone number is 1-250-592-4313 His assistant is Cara (sorry not sure of the spelling of her name)
Sorry I don't know the number to Jubillee Walk In Clinic but someone from Victoria will be able to help you with this, or you could google it.

dr amson will do fills and followup for patients that had surgery elsewear. he is very supportive and understanding. costs aroun 100-125. sandi
