Well, yesterday I had my first meeting with Dr. Tang. I was originally scheduled to meet with Dr. Amson but since he's so back-up they switched me over to Tang, and that's fine with me. I found Dr. Tang to be very easy to talk to, explained the surgery very clearly (good and bad) and definitely did not rush me…overall I was very happy.
Before meeting with Dr. Tang I had a couple tests done: one was the sleep apnea test where you put the thing on your finger overnight and the other was to do with my lungs. Well, my lungs are great but I was surprised that the other test showed I have moderate sleep apnea, which to be honest has me kinda scared. My GP's assistant had called me to advise that he wanted to see me about my test results but told me not to worry. I didn't know what the reason was but Dr. Tang pointed it out to me. I'm not too sure what it is about the sleep apnea that has me concerned, but something has me in a bit of a tizzy.
So, Dr. Tang has requested that my GP do current blood work (my sugar was in the high normals the last time and we want to have that under control before doing surgery)…and I also have to have the test where I drink the Barium and they take an x-ray of my stomach to make sure everything's normal and there won't be any issues. Gonna just take it one day and one test at a time.
Once I have these tests taken care of and everything is in order Dr. Tang said he could get me in for surgery in a couple weeks (keep in mind I'm doing self-pay banding). Maybe i'm getting worried because it's starting to become reality, not sure.
