Hello,
It's been a while since I posted anything. I'm in Victoria now, staying at The Royal Scot with my husband Rob. My surgery is scheduled for March 1 @ 9:40 am.
I've had my appointment with Dr. MacDonald along with labs, EKG and chest xray on Wednesday. Yesterday I was at my appointment at the pre-op anesthetic clinic at Royal Jubilee. When the anesthetist walked in he and I just stared at each other, "you seem so familiar to me." I told him. Then he introduced himself. Lo and behold I had worked with him at Prince George Regional Hospital when I first started there in 2001. He also did my spinal anesthesia when I gave birth to my son in 2002. I was just so thrilled to see him! Now I feel much more at ease with the surgery, even though he won't be my anesthetist that day. I love how small our world really is!
Rob and I are off to The Empress for tea this afternoon, it's something I've always wanted to do and now I have the opportunity to do it before surgery.
I was really rather stressed out about the surgery but with how things have progressed here since our arrival I'm much more at peace with it and relaxed. I'm not looking forward to the 'prep day' though. lol
Diane, I know we're 'surgery twins' for Monday. If I don't run into you during our stay there, please know that I'm thinking of you and sending positive energy your way.
Cheers,
Lisa C.
