Over on the facebook pages there was a question about MedicAlert bands for Weight Loss Surgery patients. Do you have an alert band and what did you put on it?

RnY patients should be wearing a medic alert stating that they have had RnY Gastric Bypass. This will let them know NOT to use a long tube if they need to intubate you in the event of an emergency. A long tube could puncture your tiny pouch so I would be wearing one of these if I were you.
Cheers

It is also important so that you are not given meds that are harmfull to your pouch Your band should say Gastric bypass RNY or sleeve, band. No Nsad's and no blind gastric tubes. Hope this helps There was a site that used to tell you all this I will see if I can find it and repost it here. Paige
