Here is a really long and interesting article from the New York Times about how difficult it is to lose weight and the steps required to keep it off.  It is a positive article which confirms most of what we know already.  Eat less, exercise more.  But it also shows how the  body is programmed to maintain its weight.  And most interesting is it shows how everyone reacts differently.
