I will have my scope this tuesday. And i have my appt with dr a in march hoping this will be the last until surgey  .

First saw Dr A in July 2007… Had surgery on November 10, 2011 with Dr Amson.. Starting weight 282 lbs Current weight 262 Lbs 01/18/2012 246 Lbs 04/18/2012 — 225 Lbs

Where will you be having your scope? Mine should be in Surrey and also my last hurdle b4 surgery!!!
It's still so surreal after waiting three years!!! How about you??

I will be having myne done at royal jubel with Dr Amason. I live in Victoria.
I have been waiting 3 years.

when i talked to ellisa today she said they will sedate me.
I will let you know more when i get home from the hospital.

So I am all done.
I was sedate. So I don't remember much. I remember Dr A asking if I wanted the drugs and I said YES. and than him saying it will take a few mins to work. Than him asking me If i watched the olympics and I said I have and he said I should watch the skaters from Last night. And than he sprayed this stuff in my throat and asked me to swallow and thats what I remember.
Oh and him saying he will see me in two weeks.
So a peice a cake in the end.

Drugs are good :P lol
Did they do a IV? How did you feel afterwards?
I'm trying to get a afternoon appointment so I don't miss
more work then I need to.
Somehow I don't think I'll be going back to work afterwards though
as I work in a call center and need my throat/voice.
How long did it take?

I had iv drip and thats how they had the drugs to me.
Before dinner I started not feeling so well. I have no idea if it was from the scope or not.
I could talk.
When you have the drugs ur not allowed to sign any legal documents or drive for 24 hours.

I am jealous you got drugs!!! I had mine done at Royal columbian and the nurses had the iv going because I was determined to get the drugs..the doc was to afraid in case I didn't wake up, LOL….glad you got drugs and it went so smoothly!!! YAY
Suzanne…super happy your closer to surgery!!! How cool is that!!! ya!!!

I did this without the sedation and I would tell everyone if you have the choice due the sedation this makes things easier and less stressful. I had to go for breathing tests right after so had to be awake.

surgery Feb 3/2009 Dr. Rusnak & Dr. Amson, Im down 163 lbs with 47 lbs more to go til goal weight.

No way! LOL….Take the drugs, LOL…I (keep in mind I am a huge whimp) would never ever ever have the scope again without the drugs!!! No way, No sir, LOL…I would go through surgery again before I would have the scope without the drugs…heck I would even have stitches taken out of my slits that stung like bee stings, lol…before I would get the scope done without the drugs…but that is just ME…tons of people have had it without the drugs before and done just fine…but me….I am a whimp, LOL…
