5 Day Pouche Test

Well I think it is finally time that I take the BIG step of doing the 5 day pouche test.  I feel that I need to do this because I am beginning to lose control of my eating.  I am not so sure what is going on with me these last few days but I have been finding myself binging on carbs…now these are not the forbidden white carbs but these are the healthier (gluten free) sweet treat carbs that I bake for myself.  Therefore I have really been thinking this evening that I need to either take all these treats out of my freezer and chuck them in the garbage can outside my front door or I need to take control and do the 5 day pouch test in order to get myself back on track before it is too late.

I am asking any of you long time post ops or even any of you post ops that have made it through the honeymoon period successfully if you can share with me your experience at this stage in your journey.  If you have taken the pouche test and if you can let me know how you found it and if it really did help you to get back on tract and in tune with your pouche.  Did you find that this helped your pouche to return to its regular size, I guess is what I am trying to ask is if you found that your pouche was stretched in any way shape or form when you were out of control with your eating.  I am so scared of regaining the weight and heading right back to where I first started.  This new journey in my life has been too much of a success for me and I don't want to throw it all away.

I look forward to hearing from any of you out there.

Hey Lizzette;long time…

The pouch test works as it is designed to give you food to make you full while you free yourself of the carb cravings.  It works well for most people and provides them with that feeling of fullness after only a little food, such as we would eat when still in the honeymoon stage. It gets people back in touch with the size of their new stomach and gets you off carbs.  Then it`s up to you to continue without them after that (or not)….

Are you still below goal weight or have you creeped up a bit?  Hope you are well.
