Good question.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh Shari…we need an answer here, hehe :) Or Ron because he is pretty smart too!

I am going to guess between 500-700..but I might be wrong, hehe. I am just trying to pay the most attention to portion sizes and measuring and sticking to protein as such. Will be nice to see comments on this :)

BTW: Hi Brandi…how are you doing?Feeling? Nice to see ya ;)

That's a tough one.  I never counted calories until much later.  If you are choosing lean protein, veg & fruit, limiting your liquid calories to protein drinks and skim milk, and following the rule of five, then you shouldn't be able to get too many calories.

Too little can be a problem, but that will sort itself out sooner than you think.

I think Carrie's estimation of 500-700 is pretty close as things go, at least that's the range most people are in for a good long while.

I agree with Shari…as I usually do..LOL
I know in the beginning it was a struggle to get at least 500 calories. So I kept track to make sure I got at least that many each day.
Then later I kept track to make sure I didnt over do it.
I asked a very similar question in my first couple months after surgery.
I would say 500 – 700 is a good place to start.
