Being healthier is the best thing. I am only three months out and I feel great! I am down about 35 pounds, I move better, I walk better, and I am looking forward to doing more. I do not gobble down the amount of food that I used to nor to I maintain a bad diet. I eat healthy and respect my body more. I wouldn't have any problem in recommending the surgery or choosing to have it again.

In addition to what Kerri and Chattycat mentioned above, I do not dread going to the Doctor anymore!! My blood pressure and heart rate are like those of an athlete now, and hearing that from my Doctors mouth for the first time in my life feels awesome. He is amazed at my progress and that makes me feel great rather than ashamed because I am too overweight. One of the best parts about having surgery is the fact that it has taken the food part out of the equation for me. I eat because it is time to eat and that makes it really easy to just concentrate on my exercise rather than feeling deprived of food. As long as I keep up my routine, the weight just falls off. If I start to sway a bit, for example have a lazy week and skip swimming, I will almost guarantee that I will gain weight that week, even without being able to eat anymore than my normal amount. So for me I MUST exercise AND eat right (duh! lol) in order to lose weight. The problem I had before surgery was that I had nothing to stop me from bingeing whenever I felt like it. Now that is impossible to do and as long as I keep exercising, I know I will keep losing until my body settles out at it's normal weight. I do not have any food cravings ever, and I do not get "hungry" anymore as a result of my surgery (I had the sleeve, so no more ghrelin for this girl) and that has made all the difference in the world. If I wait too long between meals, I start to feel a little nauseous and that is what hunger feels like now for me. No rumbling stomach, no crankiness, nothing else. Unlike before surgery where when a craving or hunger struck, I could keep eating until the cows came home if I didn't actually eat what it was I was craving. So my new lifestyle entails me carrying a bottle of lemon water around wherever I go, and I always have on hand a snack just incase I end up needing to eat while I'm out. All the best to you on this amazing journey!!
Cheers

I did too Paige!! It is the anesthetic effect on your system. I felt tired and lacked energy for a few weeks after surgery but by week three I was beginning to pick up. A short five minute walk would wipe me out and I was sleeping a lot but don't worry about that. Just listen to your body as it is working tremendously hard to heal and recover from a major procedure. I was told it can take up to a year for all of the effects of anesthetic to be completely out of your system. Baby steps and before you know it you will be wondering how you ever survived without exercise!!
Cheers

Thank you I was beginning to think I was a suck. I had to go back to a a course I signed up for before having the surgery I was paid to take it hence I had to go back. I was thinking the sitting in a desk all day maybe put to much strain on my stomach. I am starting to get over it now but I am still tired Hope that disappears soon too. Paige
