This board doesn't get much action…LOL Just wondering if there are any people who've had the sleeve recently? Just curious how the recovery is going.
I'll be having the VSG in Feb.

Hello fellow "sleevers" to be!
I'm waiting for the VGS as well, hopefully in the Spring, when I have ALL my results ( been waiting 6 yrs)…I'm still doing research though and comparison between the sleeve and the by-pass…..did anybody find anything on – how much can our newly created small pouch on the sleeve stretch after a year(s) ?

Hello,
I had my sleeve done on Nov 18th, I am doing well. I am eating most things albeit very small amounts. I had a piece of turkey, teaspoon of dressing, teaspoon of potatoes, 1 brussel sprout. Generally I eat about 1/2 cup of food and stick to protein, veggies and fruit. I and this feels me and I am not hungry. I have to keep reminding myself to drink water.
I am exercising at the gym now 5 days a week and have lost 41 lbs and down a size. I am very happy with my results so far. I would recommend this surgery to anyone considering it.

Hi There Everyone
I had the VSG done Nov 2. I am down 50 pounds, and 4 sizes. I walk every day now for at least 1/2 and feel great.
I can eat nearly anything, but find that spicey food gives me heartburn. I can only eat 1/2 cup per meal. I'm not great at taking the supplements but try to get soup or broth in at snack times. water isn't a problem, but now I have found that warm water causes less acid than cold. My tastes have changed but I am now eating to live not living to eat so it doesn't matter anymore.
I love my new me. The journey is awesome!!

Hi All
I am waiting to have the sleeve done as well. Told that my turn should be around this spring. Hoping that this is the truth this time. Not holding my breath. However, this time was told to me by Eilsa not Dr A so have a little more faith that it is more accurate. So far the research that I have done I have learned that the weight loss is a little slower than with the RNY but that the stomach doesnt have as much of a capability of stretching as it does in the RNY. The part of the stomach that they leave in is the least stretchy part of the stomach. Therefor reducing the chances of stretching it back to normal size.
Hope this helps.
