Q – How much does Lapband surgery cost? What’s the wait time for surgery?

Positive Negative

Cost of Lapband Surgery/Wait time

Lapband surgery is not generally covered by Provincial Medical Plans in Canada. Certainly in BC it is NOT covered. The approximate cost runs between $14,000 and $17,000. It is important to verify the cost with your Surgeon and Medical facility before the surgery is performed.

General wait times (because Lapband is self paid) are much shorter than WLS surgeries covered under Medical Plans. Surgery could be performed with in 6 to 8 weeks after your 1st referral visit to your surgeon.
